Dr Saab is the Acting Director of the Children's Cancer Institute, and the Director of the Pediatric Cancer Research Program at the Children's Cancer Institute at the AUBMC, which includes clinical, translational, and basic science components. The Saab lab focuses on understanding the biology of oncogenesis and tumor suppression, specifically investigating cellular senescence as a tumor suppressor mechanism in premalignant lesions. Another focus of the Saab Lab is on investigating novel approaches to treatment of primitive pediatric tumors, specifically differentiation therapy of the myogenic tumor rhabdomyosarcoma.
