Nuhad Yazbik Dumit Associate Professor Graduate [email protected] Primary Office: Hariri School of Nursing, 411F Extension: 5955 DOWNLOAD CV GENERALTEACHINGRESEARCHSERVICE SHORT BIO Dr. Dumit is a holder of a BS in nursing and MA in education from AUB; and PhD in nursing from the University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing. Currently she is an associate professor at the AUB School of Nursing and the convener of the undergraduate program. Has a teaching experience for over 30 years. Coordinates courses and teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. She is the Coordinator of the Continuing Education and Off-Shore Programs at the AUB School of Nursing; plans and organizes continuing education programs/courses/workshops for nurses, nursing faculty, and non-nursing faculty, locally and regionally in teaching effectiveness, program and student learning evaluation, curriculum development, developing teaching portfolios, leadership and management in nursing, and critical care nursing; served as the chairperson of the Curriculum Committee of the School of Nursing for many years; and coordinated several programs such as the RN-BSN program and the MSN administration track.. Her research work mainly addresses the nursing workforce issues such as migration, recruitment, and retention, and sickness absence among nurses. Other research relate to cardiac illness in adults; and led 2 research projects for the United Nations Population Fund related to reproductive and sexual health and HIV services. Served on several university committees related to accreditation and teaching effectiveness such as the AUB Task Force on Undergraduate Teaching Excellence, the University Learning Outcomes Coordinating Committee, the Advisory Committee of the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the General Education Program committee. She is the recipient of the “Distinguished Nurse of the Year in Nursing Education” award by the Order of Nurses in Lebanon and the World Health Organization in 2006; and the “Teaching Excellence Award” by the American University of Beirut in 2007.
