Alissar Yehya

Civil Engineering

An Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at AUB. Also an Associate Researcher at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Artois in 2015, with distinction. Her thesis was on phase-change materials for enhancing the thermal performance of buildings. She joined Harvard in Sept. 2016 to work with Pr. James R. Rice group. Her current research addresses the mechanics and physics of earth and environmental processes and focuses on thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of materials and permeability evolution by sub-surface damage and healing processes in porous media. She’s interested in solutions to reduce energy consumption and in addressing problems associated with energy production.
