Riad Chedid

Dr. Riad B. Chedid is a university professor, an administrator and an energy specialist. He served as associate dean of MSFEA/AUB, founding president of Fahd Bin Sultan University (FBSU)- a private university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a president of Rafik Hariri University- a private university in Lebanon, and a team leader in a project to establish the American University of Abu Dhabi in UAE. Dr Chedid is also an accomplished full professor working for the past 28 years at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Throughout his involvement in all aspects of academic activities, he developed skills in research (his H-index on Google scholar is 24), leadership, modern governance, accreditation, internationalization, curricula development, policies and procedures, budget management, and strategic and operational planning and implementation. Besides his accomplishments in academia, Dr. Chedid served as advisor to the Minister of Energy and Water in Lebanon, a member of the Board of directors of the Lebanese electric utility, a member of the Board of Trustees of FBSU and RHU and a member of business transformation Committee of ASTRA group in Saudi Arabia. He also has served as consultant to several private, governmental and UN agencies on energy and climate change related issues.
