Lamis Jomaa

Food Science

Dr. Jomaa is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences within the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). She is an affiliate assistant professor at the College of Health & Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University in the United States. In addition, Dr. Jomaa serves as a co-director of the Refugee Health Program, Global Health Institute and as a member of the executive committees of several graduate programs at AUB, including the Food Security Program (FSP), Public Health Nutrition (PHNU), and the Rural Community and Development Program (RCODE). As a Fulbright scholar, Dr. Jomaa earned her Master’s and doctoral degrees in Nutritional Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University with a specialization in community nutrition. Post her graduate studies, Dr. Jomaa completed the Mirzayan Science and policy technology fellowship at the Institute of Medicine within the National Academies of Sciences (Washington, DC). Prior to joining AUB, she was an assistant professor at the University of Balamand for two years and a one -year visiting professor at the Lebanese University.
