Florian Jacques Bertrand

Mathematics

I hold a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Aix-Marseille, France. In the fall 2008, I was a granted a Fields Fellowship for a thematic semester devoted on Arithmetic and Hyperbolic Geometry at the Fields Institute in Toronto, Canada. In January 2009, I joined the Department of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, as a Visiting Assistant Professor. I worked with Xianghong Gong and Jean-Pierre Rosay. In 2011, I moved to Vienna, Austria, for a Postdoctoral position in the research group of Bernhard Lamel at the University of Vienna. I was granted PI for the project “Local Analysis on Almost Complex Manifolds” funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF-Lise Meitner Program) for two years starting in September 2012. I joined the Department of Mathematics at AUB as an Assistant Professor in 2014. As of September 2019, I am the Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics. Since 2020, I am Associate Professor.
