The Effects of Bidirectional Biliteracy on Numerosity Processing

Project description

The aim of this research is to observe how the ability to read and write in two languages that have opposite script directions (i.e. English and Arabic) impacts the way the individuals process quantities. This research stems from the emerging branch of SNARC (spatial-numerical association of response codes) effect studies. The results will add to the existing knowledge regarding the relationship between literacy and mathematical processing of symbolic and non symbolic (i.e. quantities) number.
