Ola Kubbara

Political Science

Ola Kubbara is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) , Cairo University since 2015. Her research interests focus on democratization processes and democracy promotion, with specific emphasis on the German Political Foundations as actors in democracy assistance in Egypt. She is the recipient of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship of 2017, and is currently conducting her Ph.D. thesis research at the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute in Freiburg, Germany. Graduate of the German School in Cairo, she finished her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in political science at the American University in Cairo (AUC). Her work has appeared in 'Open Democracy' and recently in the 'Bundeszentrale for Politische Bildung' (bpb), Dossier Interstaatliche Konflikte. She has pieces in ‘Idafat’ Journal (Arab Journal of Sociology) and forthcoming in the AUC Press on internationalization of higher education at in Egypt.
